NACHI's Northern Illinois Chapter will be holding it's first monthly meeting in partnership with the Illinois Association of Home Inspectors. These meetings are able to be attended both live/in-person and live via Zoom. 
NAVIGATING LEGAL ISSUES FOR HOME INSPECTORS: PROTECTING YOUR BUSINESS AND CLIENTS
Legacy Inspection Group is a company that started as a single-person inspection firm in 1995 and gradually grew over the years to become a multiple inspector company offering various services. The company also provides pre-license training and continuing education for home inspectors. The company has performed over 28,000 inspections and has had to develop a system to handle complaints and legal issues arising from their work.
Sal Catanese, the owner, has spoken about handling complaints and lawsuits to various local groups and was the featured speaker at the Western New York Inspection Conference in 2021. This presentation will cover how to handle complaints, deal with realtors, and appear in court. It will provide examples of various issues and discuss contract issues and insurance coverage to help others avoid sleepless nights.
